RAAS Jodhpur – Colonial Atmosphere

RAAS Jodhpur
Jodhpur, Rajasthan

In the clock tower area, one of the busiest of Jodhpur in terms of bazaar, you will find this heaven where everything is luxury, calm and tranquillity.

The arrival, once you have walked through the reception, you will see it is absolutely stunning! The whole complex is overlooked by Mehrangarh, an awe-inspiring 15th century fort looming 400 feet above the Jodhpur skyline. When lit up in the evenings, the views are simply breath-taking!

The historical buildings (such as stabbles) have been skilfully included in the modern buildings, while keeping a unity of materials which gives to the whole a perfect harmony. Jodhpur’s red sand-stone has been used for all facades and inside the rooms, but with modern designs and engraving. The new buildings are modern and contemporary in their use of space and light; and yet grounded in tradition of the region’s age-old stone carving industry.

The hotel is also housing an amazing Step Well (Toorji Ka Jhalra Step Well), built in the 1740s and very well maintained thanks to RAAS Hotel.

4 Garden Rooms, 28 Luxury room, 4 Duplex suite, 3 Heritage suite
Each room has a spectacular view on the fort, my room was the 313 in the new area and was absolutely perfect, but of course if you prefer the heritage suite they are gorgeous. I visited one new suite, under renovation, which will have a fantastic view over the step-well as well as on the Fort. This one will worth to rob a bank!

Baradari restaurant offers a range of local and international cuisine all day. The Haveli courtyard provide a tranquil backdrop for meals all through day. Ingredients are organic, and locally-grown in the very own chef’s garden, ensuring fresh and flavoursome herbs and vegetables.
Darikhana is the alfresco dining option. Perched on the first floor, above the old stables, this dining venue offers clear views of the Mehrangarh Fort. Evening meals at Darikhana are some of our most popular, where you can see the illuminated fort above and our candlelit. Here also, meals are made from fresh, seasonal, organic herbs and vegetables picked from the chef’s garden. Don’t come too late as the illumination of the Fort stop at 9:30!
In room dining, private dining also available.
The Step-well café is a city favourite for its unique location. The café is open to the square and street but can also directly be approached from RAAS by a private door on to the Step Well.

Swimming pool with a fantastic view on the fort
Amazing concept store (PINK) and jewellery shop
The spa in RAAS is the most relaxing and fabulous place on earth! They use the Ila products, which are organic but also ethical, environmental and sustainable.
