Deogarh Mahal – Colonial Atmosphere

Deogarh Mahal
Deogarh Rajasthan

On the road between Udaipur and Jaipur lies this beautiful palace built in the 17th century and turned into hotel in 1991 by its owner today. The main courtyard has 3 elephant stables! The elephants do not live there anymore, but some days, parades are organised. This Palace is a real maze of corridors and courtyards, full of charm. Rooms are furnished in pure Indian style, worthy of a museum.

During the Mewar royalty, 16 barons were ruling the territory. One of them built this stronghold more than 300 years ago, on top of the hill above the existing village.

Ask to visit the Palace; there is also an audio-guide available, because it is full of hidden treasures! For instance, this little room next to the actual Bar, which the family used as a safe and which has the oldest paintings of the palace on its wall.

50 rooms, all different from the simple Deluxe Room to the Maharana suite. If you feel like living as a Maharajah once in your travel, this Maharana suite is for you! It is almost the same than the one you visit in Udaipur Palace!!! We had a firm favourite for the bathtub…

A private villa of 4 suites on a lake (Fort Seeghh Sagar) only 3 miles away from Deogarh Mahal welcomes you for a very exclusive experience! You will access by boat at the rainy season and through a little bridge during the dry season. Swimming pool and Jacuzzi, massage, fishing in the lake, riding, picnic

The hotel also own 16 luxurious tents in the jungle, Khayyam Logi Tent, on a place where the Udaipur Maharaja used to stop with his suite when coming to hunting party in Deogarh. Unforgettable experience! Tents are very comfortable, with nice bathrooms and changing room. All meals served in a separate dining tent.

Home grown fruits and vegetables, in-house milk products and oils provide a delectable and distinct freshness. You can also flavor typical Mewari cuisine served with traditional hospitality. The hotel offers delicious seasonal jams, and juices made from fruits grown around the Mahal.

Picnic in the countryside and romantic dinner on a private terrace can be organized on demand

Heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi, Ayurvedic massage, indoor gym and Badminton court, snooker table, table tennis, motorcycle rent, biking, horse riding, camel cart

Jeep safaris, 1930s train ride through a wooded hill section with breath taken landscape view
